I have spent the past week or so pondering the the reality and the significance
of Col 1:27 Christ in you, the Hope of Glory.
As I have said before, at the root
of that word glory is view and opinion. In other words, the only way that we live a life as good as God says it can be is
by having an awareness of and being in communion with the living Jesus in you.
As I again spent time pondering the reality of this scripture, I began to have a desire to understand why Jesus in
us is the only way to achieve the life that God desires for us. Even though the early answers were more than likely just a
part of my religious past surfacing to my conscience, they are still true and significant; we need Jesus in our heart to give
us the strength to live life as God intended!
But as I again spent
time pondering this early this morning and communing with Jesus in my heart, I believe I may have grasped the real weight
of why this was written to us. We will never see how good God intended our life to be apart from Jesus in us telling
us!
1 Cor 2:9-12 (NLT) That is what the Scriptures
mean when they say, “No eye has seen, no ear has heard, and no mind has imagined what God has prepared for those who
love him.” But it was to us that God revealed these things by his Spirit. For his Spirit
searches out everything and shows us God’s deep secrets. No one can know a person’s thoughts except that person’s
own spirit, and no one can know God’s thoughts except God’s own Spirit. And we have received God’s Spirit
(not the world’s spirit), so we can know the wonderful things God has freely given us.
With our carnal minds we will never grasp how good God wants our lives to be. We come up with all sorts
of ideas that sound nice but they will be limited to this world's system and in the end, we will continue to come
up with religious excuses for our miserable existence and continue to fall short of God's view and opinion of how our
lives should be (glory).
Read Romans 5:17 from the Message Bible:
If death got the upper hand through one man's wrongdoing, can you imagine
the breathtaking recovery life makes, sovereign life, in those who grasp with both hands this wildly extravagant life-gift,
this grand setting-everything-right, that the one man Jesus Christ provides?
Jesus in you will continually remind you how good life was meant to be! He will not condemn you but convince you
that you are as you should be because of what He accomplished for you!
I
will continue pondering these things and I look forward to sharing the fruit of it!

Something that my favorite preacher said in one of his recent messages
brought to my remembrance something that I have pondered in the past and opened up what I believe to be new insight, for me
anyhow. He was teaching about identity and he said that before Adam fell, he lived out of his heart and that his brain
was used just for observation. In the past, I have pondered the verse: Genesis 3:7 (NLT) At that moment their eyes
were opened, and they suddenly felt shame at their nakedness. So they sewed fig leaves together to cover themselves.
When I heard my preacher say what he said it struck a chord with what I had pondered in the past and began to see some distinct
possibilities.
It is obvious that in Genesis 3:7 that this eye opening was not good like we
usually associate with eye openings in the bible. I have believed it to be some sort of carnal awakening when Adam
began to pass judgments based on opinions formed in his brain instead of what was flowing from his heart in communion
with God in his spirit. The first judgment that he passed was that his body needed to be covered when God says that it was
very good.
At this point, man ceased to live from his heart in communion with his creator. I
believe at this point, the world began to slip back into chaos because in Genesis 1:26-28, God gave dominion of planet
earth to man and even in his fallen state he still has dominion! I believe that the corruption in man's heart has corrupted
this world!
We are shown in Romans 8:18-22 (ASV) For I reckon that the sufferings of this present
time are not worthy to be compared with the glory which shall be revealed to us-ward. For the earnest expectation of the creation
waiteth for the revealing of the sons of God. For the creation was subjected to vanity, not of its own will, but by reason
of him who subjected it, in hope that the creation itself also shall be delivered from the bondage of corruption into
the liberty of the glory of the children of God. For we know that the whole creation groaneth and travaileth in pain
together until now.
Is it possible that we can give life to the creation around us by the beliefs of
our heart which emerge through Christ in us? Colossians 1:27
There is a time coming when all things
in this world will be set straight. But what if we can become what God says that we are right now?
What if we can be
in this world like Jesus is right now like it says in 1 John 4:17? Could we see life the way that God intended it to be even
in the midst of the worst darkness this world has ever seen?
Something to ponder! Life was meant to be an
incredible journey!
